For over twenty years, (the Swiss) Mike Wider has been producing
innovative contemporary and improvised music on his label
Creative Works Records.
The European music tradition – from a personal style of jazz to
roots folk music to classical avant-garde – stands central across the
breadth of his discography.
Little known artists must not only be discovered, but consistently
challenged over a long period of time, so that contrasting aspects
of their personality can be brought to the musical surface.
In this way, the spectrum of his catalog is constantly shaped and
expanded. Internationally known names help stamp the label with its
unmistakable profile. |

MIKE WIDER was born in St.Gallen in 1960. Music has always played a central role
in his life. In the beginning, it was a mobile disco, in weich Wider worked as a DJ.
Later he worked as an avant-garde rock producer and co-owner of a recording studio.
His interests broadened, and developed more and more towards producing personal
music on an independent label. 1983 saw the birth of Creative Works Records.
Mike Wider lives and works with his wife Nataly and sons Pavel and Samuel in
Root/Lucerne. |
