For over twenty years, (the Swiss) Mike Wider has been producing innovative contemporary and improvised music on his label Creative Works Records. The European music tradition – from a personal style of jazz to roots folk music to classical avant-garde –stands central across the breadth of his discography. Little known artists must not only be discovered, but consistently challenged over a long period of time, so that contrasting aspects of their personality can be brought to the musical surface.
